Ultimate 1550 Knuckle
Ok, so just when you thought 50° of steering was insane with our Ultimate 60 Knuckle, we introduce another concept that does 60° of steering! That's right, this knuckle, based on the same technology as the Ultimate 60 Knuckle, will work with a new joint called the 1550. This big guy packs about double the strength of a high end 60 joint and can pull off 60° of steering. Sure, this isn't for everyone, but we have competitors out there right now prototyping these knuckles and are pulling off about 58° of usable steering. Pretty impressive when you see what this steering looks like. In fact, many people comment that the rig looks broken when turned close to 60°. This knuckle design also works with Spidertrax 1 Ton Unit Bearings. Some key advantages of the Ultimate 1550 design are:

  • Light Weight - Yes, this knuckle still blows away the weight of a typical 60 knuckle. Since the same 1 ton unit bearings are used for this knuckle, overall strength of the Ultimate 1550 Knuckle is pretty comparable to that of the Ultimate 60 Knuckle. Therefore, the weight is very similar to that of the Ultimate 60 Knuckle.

  • Compact Design - This knuckle is about 1-1/2" longer then our Ultimate 60 Knuckle, which makes it almost identical in size to a standard 60 knuckle. Considering it accommodates an enormous 1550 joint, this is pretty impressive. Although this knuckle is intended to work with the 1550 joint, it will also accommodate 60 joints and CV style joints.

  • Serviceability - Like the Ultimate 60 Knuckle, this knuckle makes use of a spherical ball & race combo (8000 lbs. axial loading ea. / 16,000 lbs. per knuckle!)

  • A pre-release version of this knuckle is currently available. For more details, please contact one of our Spider 9 specialists at (800) 286-0898.
