4. Thread Engagement
We designed our wheel spacer and adapter kits to work with bulge style lug nuts. This is done for two reasons. First, this type of lug nut provides extra seat engagement between it and the wheel spacer or adapter. Second, this lug nut cannot be installed backwards which may sound trivial but in the long run adds an excellent factor of safety for installers.
Because these lug nuts are considered over sized when compared to OEM lug nuts, you may notice your factory axle wheel studs do not pass all the way through them when fully installing your spacer or adapter. This is usually noticable on rear axle applications where the factory studs tend to be shorter then the front. Because we model our wheel spacers and adapters around OEM wheels, the actual thread engagement on these bulge style lug nuts are designed to match the OEM thread engagement and therefore are safe.
