In 2005 we introduced the Spider 9, a revolutionary 9" housing that redefined rock crawling performance. Today, our Pro Series Housing makes history by becoming the first 9" housing designed specifically for professional rock racers. Full chromoly construction, heat treated axle tubes, and upgraded hardware make this our best Spider 9 yet. Welcome to an all new level.

Chromoly construction.
Every component of the Pro Series Housing, from the one-piece 1/4" thick center shell to the 3/8" thick third member face plate, is manufactured out of 4130 domestic grade chromoly steel. Compared to traditional mild steel housings, this gain in material quality provides an ultimate strength increase of over 50%.

Heat treated.
Every 3-1/2" OD x 1/4" wall 4130 housing tube is heat treated to a tensile strength of 150,000 psi, roughly 2-1/2 times the strength of 1026 DOM. For the first time ever, the axle housing tubes match the strength of a Grade 8 bolt.

Ground clearance.
Fine in the desert, but an oversized housing fails in the rocks. That's why every Pro Series Housing provides unmatched ground clearance. At 15°, the bottom of our housing measures only 5" from housing tube centerline.

CNC machined.
Every Pro Series Housing third member face plate is CNC machined using our in-house vertical milling centers. This ensures not only perfect fitment for your 9" third member but precision alignment for your axle shaft seals. To date, we remain one of the only 9" housing manufacturers to add this critical CNC feature.

Easy inspection.
A generous 1-5/16" diameter fill opening makes general gear inspection and filling easy. We also positioned the fill opening high up on the Pro Series Housing, so oil level can be set as high or low as required for your 9" third member. Of course our Spidertrax Oil Fill Cap is also included with every Pro Series Housing.

Bulk heads.
Two perfectly placed 1/4" thick bulk heads ensure proper load distribution between the heat treated tubes, center shell, & face plate. In other words, with our Pro Series Housing the days of spinning axle tubes are over.

Ultra lightweight.
Unsprung weight is a vital factor in rock racing performance. At 65" in length (far longer then necessary even for a full size axle), our Pro Series Housing weighs under 70 lbs. This is less than half the weight of a traditional Dana 60.

Racing hardware.
What performance housing would be complete without racing grade third member hardware. Every Pro Series Housing comes standard with our Pro Series Hardware Kit. Each kit comes complete with Grade 9 cross drilled 12 point bolts to ensure your third member stays tight, even in the toughest of competitions.

We designed the Pro Series Housing to be the ultimate builders axle. At 65" in overall length, our off-the-shelf Pro Series Housing can be cut down to fit almost every front & rear rock racing application. Welding on your Pro Series Housing, whether mig or tig, is also a snap. Simply pre-heat your welding area to 250° F and use ER70 for your wire or rod.
